As an integral part of our mission, The Junior League of Stark County aims to not only improve communities, but also to promote voluntarism and develop the potential of women.  To that end, we have established the Junior Leaders Community Service Grant, designed to assist young women in grades K-12 to realize their dreams of helping those in need in their local communities.

Requirements

• Applicants must be female, living in Stark County, Ohio, and enrolled in Kindergarten through 12th grade.
• Applicants must have an adult co-applicant.
• Applicants may not have previously received a Junior Leaders Community Service Grant
• Service projects must benefit Stark County
• Applicants may request up to $500 of funding
• Application submission deadline is typically late October, with notification of winners in mid-December.
• Winners may request up to 50% of awarded funds upfront.  Remainder will be paid upon completion of project, including submission of final report, photo documentation, and receipts to JLSC in May.
• Recipients may be asked to attend a JLSC meeting to present their project.

Proposal Guidelines

As much as possible, in the student’s words, the proposal should provide the following information:

• Project Goals and Description – what are your plans for the service project, who will it serve/benefit, what will you do, how will it make a difference in Stark County?
• Collaborating Agencies/Organizations – if this project requires the participation of any groups or organizations, who are they and have they agreed to participate if you receive funding?
• Budget Outline – how much money are you requesting and how do you plan to spend the money – remember you can only request up to $500.
