Women of the Year Nominations

Since 1947, the Junior League of Stark County, Ohio, Inc. has been honoring women for their outstanding volunteerism in Stark County.  The Junior League is currently accepting nominations for its 78th Annual Woman of the Year Community and Woman of the Year President’s awards.   We invite you and your organization to consider nominating an outstanding woman who fits the following criteria:

Community Award – This award is presented to a woman who has made significant, unique and lasting volunteer contributions in many parts of Stark County and who has acted as a role model of achievement for other women.

President’s Award – This award is presented to a woman who has made significant, unique and lasting volunteer contributions in one area of Stark County and who has acted as a role model of achievement for other women.

Please note that previous recipients and elected officials are not eligible.

To nominate an outstanding volunteer, please prepare answers to the following questions in a Word or PDF document using the terms “she” or “her” to maintain anonymity and eliminate any bias for the judgement panel:

  • Impact—Has your nominee made an impact in one or more organizations?  What impact or changes has this nominee made in the community?
  • Community Service—Please list the following for all leadership/committee participation:
    • Name of the service organization(s)
    • Level of participation
    • Length of service
  • Leadership—Provide specific examples of how the nominee has demonstrated innovation, initiative, commitment, and leadership.
  • Additional Information—up to five (5) pages may be submitted to share any additional information that you feel is important for consideration of a new nominee, only one page may be submitted for renewal applications.  Any letters of recommendation from other organizations or individuals should use the terms “she” or “her” for inclusion in the judging panel’s packet.
