Letter from JLSC President

The Junior League of Stark County, Inc., makes lemonade from the lemons of our community’s needs. Some are sour, some tart, and some bitter. Regardless of the lemons, the ladies of the Junior League of Stark County squeeze them and add sweetness in the form of leadership, volunteerism, action, collaboration, and training. Our sisterhood is made unique through the various flavors that we all add to the pitcher. Our chapter is small; however, we all pitch in to accomplish some amazing things.

Our board and committee chairs for the 2024-2025 league year made some pretty amazing lemonade from the lemons that we had available, which is evidenced in our Period Poverty Supply Drive and Packing, the Habitat for Humanity Women’s Build, the 2nd Spring Eggstravaganza, the 2nd Stark County Street Card, the addition of some amazing provisional members, the successful Women of the Year Luncheon and so many other awesome accomplishments.
As the board and committee chairs for the 2025-2027 league years settle in, I look forward to making even more amazing lemonade through our leadership, volunteer action, collaboration, and training. We are all unique, adding our flavor to everything we do. This league year is off to a great start! We started the year strong, helping Laquetta install siding on her new home and apply polyurethane to her trim as part of the Women Build with Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio. During our Summer Social, we brainstormed things that our League should start, stop, change, and continue. I look forward to continuing the journey with each of you. I am excited to expand our community impact initiative to address life cycle poverty, reboot our Night at the Races Fundraiser on November 14, 2025, and ultimately add new leaders to our membership. If you or someone you know is interested in adding their flavor to our pitcher, please consider joining us. We would love to have you!

Let’s continue to make lemonade, ladies.
