Junior Leaders Service Grant Past Projects
Some of the winning grant proposals from past years include:
- “Thinking of You Valentine’s Day Care Package” project in collaboration with two Stark County organizations to lift up young ladies and women around Valentine’s Day.
- “Festive Teen Bundles” project in collaboration with 3rd Street of Downtown Canton provided bags of basic necessities and gfits to teens during a Christmas shop.
- “Grandparents Club” project in collaboration with Glenwood Assisted Living paired elementary students with residents in assisted living to share activities and companionship and increase well-being.
- “Katie’s Closet” project in collaboration with Canton City schools to provide basic necessities such as underwear, socks, and toiletries to students in need.

- Books for Reach out Program at Aultman Hospital
- “Speak Now” – Students Helping Students. An event for middle school students to introduce them to speech and debate and increase their self-confidence
- “Check your pocket” – A self-esteem and anti-bullying initiative
- “Binkies for Babies” – a compassionate project to benefit the families of newborns in the NICU at Aultman Hospital
- Garden at YWCA Canton so kids in the childcare program can learn about where fresh, healthy food comes from
- Care packages for kids at the Domestic Violence Shelter
