2025 Night at the Races

Join The Junior League of Stark County at our upcoming Night at the Races fundraiser. This fun-filled derby themed event will take place on Friday, November 14th, 2025. This adult-only event promises to be an exciting night out to support JLSC and our mission.

Where: Elm Ridge Event Center in Canal Fulton

When: Friday, Nov 14th  6-10pm

  • Doors open at 6pm
  • Buffet Dinner at 6:30 (herb marinated chicken breast, beef tips and egg noodles, herb roasted red skin potatoes, green beans almondine, penne pasta, and salad)
  • Races to Follow
  • Guests will receive one drink ticket.  Other beverages are available at the cash bar.

Tickets:

$75 per person or $125 for a pair of tickets.

If you can’t attend, don’t worry – you can still support us remotely through sponsorship, ad space in the program, or purchasing a horse.

Purchase and name a horse for $20 for a chance to win $40 – one horse from each race will win.

Horse Races:

There will be nine pre-recorded horse races, plus a 10th auction race.  Head to the betting table to place your total wager on the race in $2 increments.  ATMs will NOT be available.  Please bring cash for horse betting.  

You can bet on as many horses as you’d like in each race (1 bet = $2). For every $2 bet you’ll receive a ticket to claim at the end of that race if your horse wins.  

50% of all bets from each race go to JLSC.  The remaining 50% is split evenly among those who bet on the winning horse.  

If you own the winning horse, you’ll collect a $40 prize at the cashier table.  

What Should I Wear?

Dress in your Derby-inspired attire or casual – whatever you are comfortable in!

Raffles:

  • Bring a donation of period supplies (pads or tampons) to receive a raffle ticket for a special raffle prize drawing.
  • Gift Card Pull – Featuring gift cards valued at $25 or more. Attendees can purchase an envelope containing a gift card for $20 (cash, check, or scan a QR code)
  • Various silent auction items will be available to bid on (will accept cash, check, or credit card payment at the end of the evening).
